Snowman Tutorial Part 1

I saw this tutorial for a snowman scene at Chemist2Dio.com and I thought it was cool. The problem was that it is made for Adobe Illustrator, and I don't have it. I have Inkscape though, so here's how to do it with an open source vector graphics editor.

1. Make a few circles for the body and the head. Add eyes and a mouth. I made the carrot nose using the bezier tool and rounding the end by pulling it.

2. Next make the hat. First make the brow from a circle and rotate it slightly (I changed the color later). I then made a square to put on top of it and rotated that as well. You can then change the color to black.

3. Now our hat needs a band around it. I again used the bezier tool to make a rectangle and curved the long sides. Then make an oval to go on top of the hat; duplicate it white and make a black gradient shadow. You can then put them on top of each other and then the hat.
